Spokane Diocese Settles Abuse Claims

The Spokane Diocese--currently involved in bankruptcy proceedings--has filed a plan of reorganization which seeks approval of a proposed $48 million settlement with sex abuse victims and other creditors.

The settlement was reached after a lengthy mediation with a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge.

Other settlements throughout the nation include the Tucson Diocese ($22 million) and the Portland Diocese ($75 million).
